Parallels in Survival: The Triumph of the Human Spirit | Author Susan Beilby Magee at the Smith Center for Healing and the Arts

Join mystic and cancer survivor Susan Beilby Magee, author of INTO THE LIGHT: The Healing Art of Kalman Aron, as she shares the life-lessons of Kalman Aron, a gifted artist who emerged from the ashes of the Holocaust to explore the nature of humankind and the mystery of life—all on canvas. A powerful visual record unfolds of Aron's remarkable journey from darkness into the light. Magee shows the evolution of his art over six decades and reveals his answers to universal questions: What happens to the rage, sorrow and despair? Does one choose to remember, forgive, and heal? Healing himself through his art, Aron's example offers hope to all.
At age six, author Susan Beilby Magee sat for her portrait with an unknown artist, Kalman Aron....Fifty years later, he asked her to write his story. Magee's career spans diverse realms of politics, economics and spirituality. During the past twenty-six years she has practiced the healing arts, including hypnotherapy, taught meditation and founded the Washington Circle of Master Healers. She also participates in the healing ministry at the Washington National Cathedral.
