La Sylphide Act II

This series provides a mix of old and new.

La Sylphide is heralded as one of the most important ballets of all time and the first ballet ever to be danced on pointe. When a fairy attracts a young Scotsman on the eve of his wedding, he faces a difficult choice between reality and impossible love with a spirit.

Balanchine’s vigorously paced and technically demanding Allegro Brillante simultaneously showcases precision and pure abandon of movement, creating a thrilling experience for audiences.
