The Left Bank Concert Society Presents Vec - Cek - Rak Concert

The Left Bank Quartet (David Salness and Sally McLain, violins; Katherine Murdock, viola; and Evelyn Elsing, cello) is joined by clarinetist Paul Cigan and pianist Audrey Andrist in a performance of works by Moravec, Janáček, and Dvořák. The concert is part of the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Steinway Series, a classical music concert series which features the museum’s Steinway Concert Grand piano.

Highlighting the program, clarinetist Paul Cigan and pianist Audrey Andrist join violinist David Salness and cellist Evelyn Elsing in presenting Paul Moravec’s dazzling, Pulitzer Prize winning “Tempest Fantasy.”

Also on the program: Leoš Janáček’s passionate String Quartet No. 1, “Kreutzer Sonata,” and Antonín Dvořák’s String Quartet in F, Op. 96, the beloved “American Quartet.”

Tickets are FREE, and will be distributed from G-Street lobby beginning at 2:30 pm.
