Dance, Play and Feast your way at Nowruz: A Persian New Year!

A festive day awaits you at the fifth annual Nowruz Persian New Year celebration at the Freer and Sackler Galleries. The festival features entertaining and exciting programs for all ages—including Haft Sin table displays, "fire" jumping, a Nowruz memory photo booth, chess and backgammon games, Persian stories by Xanthe Gresham, performances by the Nomad Dancers, live Persian music, newly digitized photographs from 19th and early 20th century Iran by photographer Antoin Sevruguin, and ImaginAsia family activities inspired by the most iconic object in Persian history, the “Cyrus Cylinder,” on view March 9-April 28, 2013—along with traditional Persian food for sale by Moby Dick House of Kabob and special Nowruz cupcakes by Fraiche Cupcakery.
