The Trout: Music by, and about, Schubert

For this free concert, IBIS welcomes guest artists Richard Barber, bass and Elizabeth Kluegel, soprano for a performance of Schubert's most enduring work: The Trout Quintet. Also on the program: the lied of the same name, drawn from the same inspiration and quoted in the quintet, as well as a touching commemorative work by John Harbison (November 19, 1828) and a quicksilver Hommage for piano by Poulenc. Please join us after the concert for a meet the artist reception.
IBIS is composed of musicians from the National Symphony and Kennedy Center, and emphasizes excellent music making in a friendly, intimate atmosphere.
