Temporary Reduction in 90.9 FM Signal Strength in June

If you listen to Classical WETA on 90.9 FM outside the Capital Beltway, you may notice a reduction in signal strength during the second half of June. Beginning June 14th, we will operate at reduced power during most daylight hours to allow work to be performed safely on our broadcast tower. We apologize for the inconvenience, but this is an unavoidable part of an important project at our transmitter site.

We plan to return to full strength by the beginning of July, weather permitting. We’ll keep you updated in this space.

In the meantime, the Classical WETA and VivaLaVoce online broadcasts are unaffected. You can always listen using your favorite streaming method:

  • Listen Live on your computer through our website
  • Download the Classical WETA app and listen on your mobile device with one tap.
  • Listen on your smart speaker by saying, “Play W-E-T-A” or “Play VivaLaVoce from Tune-In.” We have found those specific phrases currently to be the most reliable triggers.

Thank you for your patience, and thanks for listening to Classical WETA!
