New York Philharmonic's Clarinetist Takes Two Knees To Protest Racism

In a viral YouTube video, the New York Philharmonic’s Anthony McGill, a Black clarinetist, plays a mournful rendition of “America the Beautiful,” then drops to both knees and holds his clarinet behind his back — as though he were being handcuffed.

Here & Now’s Robin Young speaks with McGill about how the hashtag #TakeTwoKnees is spreading through the classical world.
