Jacqueline Horner-Kwiatek and ModernMedieval Voices

Jacqueline Horner-Kwiatek

Jacqueline Horner-Kwiatek, a longtime member of Anonymous 4, founded her new group, the vocal trio ModernMedieval Voices, in 2016. This week her new group will be collaborating with the Folger Consort on a program of music from 14th century Italy including works by Francesco Landini and settings of poems by Petrarch and lyrics from Boccaccio's Decameron. The concerts will also feature the world premiere of Dr. Horner-Kwiatek's own setting of the words of Dante. James Jacobs speaks with her about what it is that makes this music unique as well as her own composition process.
