Washington National Opera's Ring cycle is conducted by WNO Music Director Philippe Auguin, who, in his third Classical Conversation on Wagner and the Ring, tells Classical WETA morning host David Ginder that knowing the Ring score very, very well is critical to being able to conduct it (and rehearse it), and that connecting with the text is key to performing this music well--for both singers and orchestra members. WNO's Ring cycle is April 30 through May 22 at the Kennedy Center.
