Washington National Opera's Ring cycle at the Kennedy Center is April 30 through May 22, conducted by WNO Music Director Philippe Auguin. In the first of three Classical Conversations with Maestro Auguin on Wagner's masterpiece, Classical WETA morning host David Ginder asks about where a newcomer to the Ring should begin, the extent to which we (mortals) can identify with the intense emotions expressed in the operas, and about performers conserving their energy from night to night.
