Choral Showcase celebrates July 4th with American compositions from the early 20th century: from Amy Beach, a Te Deum; and from Charles Ives, an early work called The Celestial Country, reflecting his love for American hymns and his time as organist of First Presbyterian Church in Bloomfield, NJ. We'll also hear a space-age piece by Meredith Monk, the Astronaut Anthem.
