  • Broadcast Engineer

    Perform preventive and corrective technical maintenance on all broadcast and production systems. Provide broadcast systems maintenance, installation and testing support as needed. This position involves year-round 24 hrs./7 days support of master control, studios control rooms, post production, and news editing. Primary facility hours of operation 8am to 9pm and include a flexible weekend rotation. The position is covered by an IBEW union contract and reports to the Senior Director of Engineering.

  • Director, National Foundation and Government Development

    The Director, National Foundation & Government Development (FGD) will secure restricted and unrestricted funds from foundations, government agencies and corporate philanthropic giving programs for WETA’s national projects. The Director will work closely with Vice President and WETA leadership to establish plans and priorities, and to achieve overall strategic and annual objectives. The Director will work closely with the Grants Management Team and will report to the Vice President, Foundation & Government Development.

  • Editor-Local Production

    Perform on a daily, ongoing basis, editing in support of WETA Local productions, including WETA Arts and Signature Dish. Perform other duties as may be assigned in accordance with union jurisdiction. This position is covered by the IBEW union contract.

  • Revenue Processing Associate

    This is a fast-paced, detail-oriented position that impacts multiple WETA fundraising teams. The Revenue Processing Associate performs timely, efficient and accurate processing of fundraising revenue to meet the needs of WETA’s fundraising and accounting operations. This person is a key member of the central processing hub of all fundraising revenue streams that drives WETA’s 24-hour business cycle. This person collaborates closely with internal clients to assure efficient workflows are maintained while processing multiple fiscal requests simultaneously. Reports to Director, Development Operations.

  • Gwen Ifill - (Summer Internship) PBS NewsHour Journalism Fellow

    WETA and its subsidiary NewsHour Productions LLC serve local and national public media audiences by producing and distributing content of intellectual integrity and cultural merit. Through broadcast, digital and community services, the organization offers compelling, diverse programming on five television channels, including primary channel WETA PBS, and on WETA Classical, the exclusive home for classical music in the nation’s capital; produces a portfolio of national television productions, including PBS NewsHour, recognized globally for bringing balanced, in-depth news coverage to all Americans; creates impactful documentaries with longtime production partners Ken Burns and Prof. Henry Louis Gates, Jr.; features a variety of content offerings on weta.org, WETA Passport, the PBS Video App and the WETA Classical App; and serves communities near and far with education and engagement initiatives that contribute to the company’s mission of public service.

  • Producer, National Affairs

    The Producer, National Affairs, is an integral member of the PBS NewsHour national affairs unit, overseeing production of video and studio interview segments for use on-air.

  • Social Media Associate Producer-Student Reporting Labs

    SRL is an award-winning national youth journalism program that connects classrooms and after school programs to local news organizations and the PBS NewsHour. Thousands of teachers use SRL’s journalism and video production resources, producing multimedia stories that are regularly featured on local and national news media. SRL is helmed by a team of journalism, education, and public media professionals who work closely with our network of students, teachers, and media partners to support youth voice, storytelling, and the future of media.
