[Photograph of Trey Graham. Photo credit: Stan Barouh] Trey Graham, theater critic at the Washington City Paper since 1995, began his career as an arts writer at the Washington Blade. His tenure in the Life section at USA Today included a stint as the newspaper's music and theater editor. A fellow at the 2002 O'Neill Critics Institute and the inaugural NEA Arts Journalism Institute in 2005, he won the George Jean Nathan Award for distinguished drama criticism in December 2004.

A noted authority on the Washington-area theatrical scene, Graham authored the theater section of the newest Time Out Guide to the nation's capital. He has written about books, travel, movies and the arts for a variety of publications, including The New York Times and The Washington Post.

Born in New Orleans and brought up in South Carolina, Graham relocated to Washington in 1990; in 2001 and 2002 he lived for a time in Zimbabwe before returning to D.C.

Graham has been a weekend anchor on WGMS FM and a contributor on both WETA TV 26's "Around Town" and WETA 90.9 FM since 2005.
