Classical WETA and Folger Shakespeare Library Celebrate Shakespeare's Birthday!

Sunday, April 27, 2008

On April 27, 2008 Classical WETA evening host Nicole Lacroix along with the Classical WETA Players joined thousands of people in Washington, DC for the celebration of William Shakespeare's 444th birthday at Folger Shakespeare Library. Included in the celebration were stage combat workshops, jugglers, jesters, magicians, tours of Folger’s reading rooms (on the one day of the year they are open to the public), and birthday cake for all cut by Queen Elizabeth. For added fun, during the celebration Nicole raffled off three gift baskets which included items from The War, Rick Steves’ Europe, Jane Austen’s Persuasion, Mozart, Bach, Haydn, Bob the Builder, Thomas the Train, and Clifford. Keep your ears open for the next time the Classical WETA Players visit an event in your area.
